          Hurricane hybrid
This idea is a great one if you live in a hurricane prone area in the south. This system has a photo voltaic (PV) panel which activates the circulation of the water through the collector (if the sun activates the PV, it’s also time to start circulating the water). This means there is no need for any electricity to run the system during the day. A small AC pump prevents thermo-siphoning at night. In a hurricane hybrid system, this pump can be deactivated during the day so the system can keep running even if the power is out.
